Turn off autorun

One way to prevent the autorun USB viruses in XP is to turn off the auto insert notification for all drives, so that the virus/trojan will not be executed when the USB is plugged in. Please see to it that you go to My Computer , right click and select “Open” or “Explore” and not “Autoplay”.
Go to Start Menu > Run and type gpedit.msc  [Group Policy Edit]
Select : Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System



Select “Turn off Autoplay” from right.



Set the radio button to Enabled, and change the “Turn off Autoplay on” to All Drives.
